Frequently Asked Questions
How many dogs ride on the coach?
A max of 8-10 friendly dogs will be on the coach. Once arriving at the Inn they may join a few other friends staying at the Inn, such as residents Carlo (lab) and Spencer (JRT mix)!
How safe is the coach and who is the driver?
The route does not include any freeway driving. This is a customized vehicle just for the dogs (maintained by one of the Fairy Dog Mother Inn’s regular visitors golden retriever Jack’s parents from D & H Auto). The coach allows the dogs views out the window while sitting safely on a normal seat with harness. The driver is incredibly cautious and experienced but just as important, the driver is one of the familiar fairy dog mothers.
How do you keep them from fighting?
The dogs will all be prescreened for friendliness and trained to sit obediently. As a precaution, each dog arrives wearing a harness that gets hooked to a normal seat.
How long will the dogs be on the shuttle?
15-45 minutes in the morning and at night depending on the bus stop route chosen. If a parent isn’t waiting at the bus stop the pup will be taken back and cared for at the Inn.
What if there is an emergency while in route?
From any point of the route the Inn is only 15 minutes away, where helpers or another vehicle is available if needed. Several safety-preparednes plans are in place and our four-legged passengers will never be left alone.
How do you get the dogs on and off the coach?
The coach driver is a familiar Fairy Dog Mother who will help each already-harnassed dog into his/her favorite seat by the window for the morning ride. The coach arrives at the Inn and a special gate/chute is attached to the bus leading the pups straight into the Inn.
Can I just drive my dog or pick up my dog directly at the Inn?
This will only be possible by appointment or in the event of an emergency situation.
